The Musician Podcast

I am always curious about other people’s life, such as what they do for living, what is their hobby, do they like art, what kind of music do they listen to etc. So, I thought why not create a podcast where I interview musicians and get to know them more and also share this information with others! (To be honest, who isn’t curious about other people’s lives!?) For this podcast, I will be interviewing musicians from different levels. It might be little Jimmy from 5th grade band, friends from college, or it might be Bela Fleck (in my dreams…)!

My first step will be looking up how to create a podcast and how to publish it. Then I will start to put a guest list together and to develop a program for the episodes. I will also create a set list for the questions I will ask. Here are some example questions:
1. What are they working on? (pieces, CD/ performance project etc.)
2. What are they listening to lately, and can they share it to the audiences?
3. What is your life like as a musician?
4. Why did/do you want to be a musician?

The final submission with be a detailed proposal for the development of the podcast. I will be presenting my idea in class. Hopefully I could share one episode in class.

“Probably the main benefit of podcasting is that it allows students to listen to specific material that they missed or did not understand multiple times. The availability of podcast does not appear to encourage students to skip classes. We also discuss limitations of previous empirical studies, and provide some directions for future research related to the use of podcast in education settings.” Even though my focus is not on education but this article help me think about how I should create the content of my show.
